Our Story
Welcome to Purdy Poodles! We are a small, family-owned breeding program located on our ranch in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Our journey with standard poodles began when we fell in love with the breed's intelligence, elegance, and wonderful temperament.
What started as a passion quickly became our mission: to breed healthy, well-socialized standard poodles that make exceptional family companions. Every puppy born at Purdy Poodles is raised in our home, surrounded by our family, children, and other pets.
We believe that the first weeks of a puppy's life are crucial for their development. Every puppy receives early neurologic stimulation, and they are handled by our children from day one until they leave for their forever home. We also invest time into socialization and introducing our puppies to various sights, sounds, and experiences.
Ranch Life
Our dogs live on our ranch in the Texas Hill Country, where they have room to run, explore, and just be dogs. The property gives them access to open pastures, shaded trails, and plenty of space to stay active and happy.
A typical day starts with morning play and exercise outdoors, followed by training sessions, grooming, and time with the family inside. Our dogs are never kenneled — they rotate between the yard, the house, and the fields throughout the day.
This kind of environment makes all the difference. Dogs that grow up with natural stimulation, varied terrain, and constant human interaction produce puppies that are confident, calm, and ready for life in any home.
Our Breeding Philosophy
Health First
All our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing including Embark DNA panels and cardiac evaluations before being bred.
Temperament
We carefully select breeding pairs for excellent temperament, ensuring our puppies are confident, friendly, and adaptable.
Early Socialization
Every puppy receives early neurologic stimulation and is handled by our children from day one until they leave for their forever home, plus exposure to various environments.
